Photoshop AI: AI comes to the Adobe editor

Today we present a new version of Photoshop for desktop and iPad. We hereby introduce five new core features of artificial intelligence. These new features, combined with Adobe Sensei AI and machine learning capabilities, make Photoshop AI the world’s leading AI app for creatives.

What are Photoshop AI Neural Filters?

Neural Filters are a breakthrough in AI-powered creativity and the beginning of a completely new approach to filters and image manipulation in Photoshop. This first release comes with a great new set of filters. Most of these filters are still in beta quality.

Use AI to make recommendations based on performance and accelerate results with one-click actions. This is a great new tool in Photoshop and we continue to add AI features that improve your experience with our product.

Sensitive object hair removal and hair removal uses AI to further improve options related to complex elements such as hair or complex backgrounds.

Use Photoshop’s AI capabilities now to speed up your everyday tasks. There’s a theme picker, an object picker, a content-aware fill, a curved pen tool, various typography features, and more.

The goal is to systematically replace as many time-consuming steps as possible with intelligent, automated technologies . Adding these five key improvements will help you free yourself from simple, uncreative tasks and focus on what matters most: creativity.

Photoshop AI on the desktop

Neural Filters is a workspace in Photoshop that offers you new and friendly filters that will help you be much more creative. Here, we’ve taken many of the features we’ve mastered and improved in Photoshop by using machine learning to reduce complex workflows to a single click or a few sliders.

Explore a rapidly growing library of artistic and decorative filters, find “good” ideas for inspiration, and refine your images using familiar Photoshop tools. The filters in these workspaces speed up some parts of the workflow, but do not always produce the desired results.

You’ll be able to try out more creative and labor-intensive ideas than ever during your project time, and you’ll have all the power of Photoshop at your disposal when you feed back the results to your neural filters.

The first neural filter to bring powerful technology to the popular Photoshop application. Six “beta” filters have also been released along with new tools to help you see how the results meet your creative goals.

We encourage you to try these beta features and filters on your images and provide feedback to help us improve Photoshop. Beta filters work well on some types of images, but not yet on others. This is just the beginning and these filters will continue to improve with user input.

Change the direction of the light to the right.

Putting the finishing touches in Photoshop is easy. There are several beta filters that can perform very handy tasks in your photo editing and retouching workflow.

Use Superzoom to increase the resolution of smaller selections in portraits or remove JPEG artifacts caused by JPEG compression. Deep Aware Fog simulates background volume fading to better highlight your subject.

Filters can be applied as-is using the Smart Filter feature, applied directly to a layer, or created as a new layer with the pixels modified. Not every filter will produce perfect results for every image, so you can use all of Photoshop’s tools to get exactly the look you want, hiding various flaws from machine learning.

Starting today, creating dynamic replacement images in the new sky is faster and easier than ever. Photoshop now recognizes foreground and sky objects. You can use Select > Sky to select the sky and edit it as you wish.

Alternatively, you can use Select > Replace Sky to select a new sky from the database or add your own, mask it and combine it with the new machine learning model developed by Sensei.

Smart Border improvements in Photoshop AI

There are art scientists who have dedicated their lives to creating beautiful and practical selections in Photoshop with a single click. They’ve made great strides in recent releases with features that improve Sensei’s AI, such as subject and object selection, and added more algorithms to intelligently handle tricky hair and complex backgrounds so they’re not necessary.

The Select & Mask workspace now includes two new Sensei features : Hair Cleanup and Object Refinement modes. It’s in the options bar at the top of the Select & Mask workspace. It finds people in your group and automatically adjusts your hair selection. It’s like creating your own brush strokes using the Edge brush.

This is especially useful if you want to use the Object Selection or Quick Selection tools to select a specific person and adjust their hair with a single click. It has always been difficult to accurately select hair and other fine elements in images. This is especially true if the foreground and background are the same color or are difficult to distinguish from each other, like in the image above.

Now you can click on the Recognize Object button to set the Edge Refinement mode and make your selection much better and faster. To illustrate this, I chose a lion with a mane that matched the background of the savanna and the sky.

You can see the precision achieved in just a few strokes with the Select Object and Sharpen Edges brushes. This only takes a few seconds. Object recognition algorithms are trained to capture objects in a scene, so they work best on backgrounds with similar colors or textures.

New Discover panel with better search

The new Discover panel brings a new learning and discovery experience to Photoshop. It combines an expanded library of in-app learning content, new step-by-step tutorials, and powerful new search capabilities.

AI contextualizes new experiences and makes recommendations based on your actions. These recommendations include tips and tutorials to speed up multi-step workflows, group highlights to remove and blur backgrounds, create black and white backgrounds, or quick automated tasks with a single click. Create an image that empowers you.

You can access the Discover panel at any time by clicking the magnifying glass icon (CMD-F) in the upper right corner of the application frame or through Photoshop’s Help menu. Also you can use the dialog to access Adobe Stock images, support communities, the Adobe Fonts page, and more. You can use it to find shortcuts. You will learn a lot and save time with this new panel.

Forms should be easy to create and modify. This release includes significant improvements to forms and forms tools. First, you’ll notice that Shapes has a new tool for creating triangles. Second, we added controls to the canvas to resize shapes and make adjustments intuitively and quickly
